Bob Simmons was a long-standing member of the Nickerson Masonic Lodge as well as the Nickerson community.
He was an avid bicyclist, often riding in the Bike Across Kansas event.
He was a master pie baker, frequently winning awards, and ribbons at various fairs.
As an avid baseball fan, he spent many hours parked beyond the outfield fence as he enjoyed watching the NHS baseball team.
Through his estate, he left the Nickerson Masonic Lodge a substantial endowment to be used to provide scholarships to deserving NHS graduates to help them further their education.
